How a panoramic image is made

We produce our Panoramic images using a DSLR Camera with a fish-eye  lens.

We shoot 20 photographs, 5 North, 5 East, 5 South & 5 West using a special adaptor on the tripod that ensures the images are perfectly aligned.

Each Photograph is shot at a different exposure time, so we get dark to light images like this…

Then, each set of 5 differently exposed images are merged together to produce 4 images…

The blending of the images ensures a cleaner image with more detail – all the lights and darks are merged to make the image pop.

The final four images are stitched together to make one panoramic image.

This image then needs to be photoshopped to remove the tripod and any shadows that shouldn’t be there…

Once all the images have been processed in the job, they need to be uploaded to Google Maps. We use a system that is a Canadian Company that allows us to upload direct to the clients Google Business Profile.
